Review the eight award categories to confirm which suits your work.
Confirm whether you are eligible
- Check who the award is open to. Each award category is different.
- Check that your project, or milestones of larger projects, is within the timeframe.
- This is the one-year period prior to the nominations opening date. For the 2024 Awards, this is from 6 June 2023 to 6 June 2024.
- Nominations for the Early Data Career Award cannot exceed three years total in data role(s) as of the opening date for nominations.

The nomination must be endorsed by your SES Band 2 before submission.
Approval from individuals for inclusion
The APS Data Awards Collection Notice must be provided to all individuals identified within the submission. They must provide their approval for their personal information to be included.
Prepare your evidenceYou will need to develop responses for the following:
- How would you summarise your project/initiative including its purpose and outcomes? (300 words)
- In what way does your project/initiative demonstrate originality? (200 words)
- What impact has your project/initiative delivered to the Australian community? (200 words)
- How does your project/initiative have (or the potential to have wider applicability? (200 words)
Upload any additional documentation you may have to support your nomination. This may include screenshots, videos, graphs and more. Ensure that any personal identifiers or sensitive information is redacted.
